First Steps

Learn the basics of BlockForge and create your first page.

Creating Your First Page

  1. Open the Editor - Navigate to the Editor page in BlockForge
  2. Start Typing - Click in the editor and begin typing
  3. Use the Slash Menu - Press / to see all available blocks

Basic Blocks

Text Blocks

  • Paragraph - Regular text (default)
  • Heading 1-6 - Different heading levels (/h1, /h2, etc.)
  • Bullet List - Unordered lists (/bullet)
  • Numbered List - Ordered lists (/number)

Rich Content

  • Code Block - Syntax-highlighted code (/code)
  • Quote - Block quotes (/quote)
  • Callout - Highlighted information boxes (/callout)
  • Toggle - Collapsible content (/toggle)

Media

  • Image - Upload or embed images (/image)
  • Video - Embed videos (/video)
  • File - Upload documents (/file)

Organization

  • Table - Create tables (/table)
  • Divider - Horizontal divider (/divider)

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • / - Open block menu
  • Cmd/Ctrl + B - Bold
  • Cmd/Ctrl + I - Italic
  • Cmd/Ctrl + K - Create link
  • Cmd/Ctrl + Enter - Create new block below
  • Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Enter - Create new block above

AI Features

Access AI assistance in BlockForge:

  1. Select text - Highlight content you want to improve
  2. Click AI icon - Access AI menu
  3. Choose action:
    • Improve writing
    • Summarize
    • Translate
    • Expand content

Organizing Content

Collections

Group related pages into collections:

  1. Create a new collection
  2. Add pages to the collection
  3. Organize by topic or project

Tags

Tag your pages for easy discovery:

  • Click the tag icon on any page
  • Add relevant tags
  • Filter by tags later

Use the search bar to find content:

  • Search by title, content, or tags
  • Filter results
  • Jump to pages quickly

Task Management

Create tasks directly in pages:

  1. Type /task or /todo
  2. Create task items
  3. Set due dates and priorities
  4. View in the Tasks page or Calendar
